In addition to the implementation of International Mifa Campus training programs in the Andean region for animation producers, distributors and directors, and the participation of an Andean delegation at Annecy 2025, the “FEF Support for image education and creation in animation filmmaking in the Andean countries” aims to give visibility to Andean talents and their projects, already completed or in progress, on an international scale.
Two events on the academic agenda and at the stand (C-19), South American Animation, a collaboration between the audiovisual cooperation offices of the Andean countries (Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela) and the Southern Cone (Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay), will be the meeting point to support the presence of representatives from the 12 projects of OTROS OJOS and ORILLAS NUEVAS. Together with the Proimágenes Colombia stand, they will be the main venue for promoting Latin American animation.
The Colombian short film, directed by María Cristina Pérez, will have its world premiere at the 78th Locarno International Film Festival, to be held from August 6 to 16 in Switzerland. It is produced by Pez Dorado Animaciones, in co-production with Cartuna.
The Andimotion Festival focuses on promoting emerging animation, especially from students and new talent in Colombia and Latin America. Its program includes animated shorts, video games, virtual reality, and digital design. It awards prizes in several categories and encourages encounters between young creators and industry professionals.
A film festival specializing in short formats, an official qualifier for the Hollywood Oscars and the Spanish Academy's GOYA Awards, which brings together around 400 short films from Colombia and around the world every December in competitive, thematic, and retrospective sections, complemented by training activities (BOGOSHORTS al tablero) and industry events (BFM - BOGOSHORTS Film Market), a marathon of filmmaking (IMAGINATÓN), art exhibitions (BOGOSHORTS expone), and gastronomic activities (BOGOSHORTS degusta), parties, concerts, and others, which allow the public to connect with this valuable format, as well as dignify it.
